One of two my free style quilts I submitted at ArtMarket Gallery Downtown Boston at the end of May was selected for a display.
I forgot all about it after I dropped the application, a copy of the receipt of entry fee and two photos of the quilts on May 28th.
On Saturday morning as I was getting ready to go out to run I saw a flyer of the event under a coffee table. The opening the event sticking out between a stack of fabric under a coffee table. I looke at the date and realized the exhibiton wwould be on Sunday, 6/7/2009. I figured that my work didn't make it since I didn't hear anything from them.
I wrote an email anyway to Enrique Florendo, the owner/organizer of the gallery wondering if they had received my application.
When I got home around noon, I had an email from Enrique. He wrot: "Call me."
When I called him, he said he wasn't at his computer but he remembered that one of my quilts had been selected. But I didn't hear anything from you, I told him. We sent you an email he said. He told to call him at 4:00 pm for further instruction.
To make a long , boring story short, I brought in the quilt on Sunday afternoon, a few hours before the opening. My dear friends Ginny, Lauren and Lucretia were there for moral support. Thank you, ladies.
