I almost skipped Boston's Run to Remember last Sunday. I wasn't fully recovered from terrible cold I had a week before. It was awful, the cold I mean, not the race. When I went to bed on Friday night, I knew I was going to get sick. You know the feeling when you are getting sick. Dry throat, you felt all your joints were about to fall apart, repeated sneezing, and most of all your lung acted funny.
Anyho, when I woke up on Sunday morning at 5:00 a.m, I knew I wanted to run. Although I wanted to move a few notches past my PR 10.15 mins/mile, I remineded myself, not to be a knucklehead and act stupid.
It turned out I didn't get sick. Mild cough here and there, and my lung wasn't fully reocvered, but I finished the race without throwing up after the race. Yesterday, I looked up the official race site for the result. I didn't crack the 50 minutes though, butI was pleased with nyself for being sensible. I slowed down everytime I felt my lung was about to explode. 53:50.
