The weather has been really unpredictable for the past weeks (duh.............I live in New England), but I managed to squeeze in a couple of runs each week.
I'm slowly getting comfortable with forefoot running. It was uncomfortable at the beginning, and I kept landing on my heels, but I keep mouthing the words as I run, "land on the ball of my foot" which I find very helpful.
What surprised me was despite the funny feeling, transitioning myself from the old habit to a new one was I could run on the same pace for 3o minutes which I could never did it before. It's like it said in one article about forefoot running, the short strides that make different.
My calves were horribly sore the first week I tried forefoot running.the soreness lasted for a week. I was like an old woman when I moved-shoot, I am an old woman. But it was not bad feeling that made me think, "I'll never do it again" kind of pain. It was good feeling kind of pain.
