This year the spring seems to stay longer than it did last year. Light sprinkle here and there, cloudy afternoons and the temperature drops to low 50 when a day before climbed up to 70 are part of spring. The unpredictable weather doesn't stop people to go out and enjoy the wonderful weather that we've been waiting for.
I don't remember I ever discussed the weather in detail, praised the wonderful warm sun or grateful for the breezy afternoon when I was in Malaysia.
I'm sure I was glad I could go out running early on Saturday and Sunday morning at Bukit Dumbar in Jelutong.
Many times I heard Mak's remark how grateful she was as she removed the dried laundry from the clothes lines. Or when she removed the potted plants from the living room to the patio as the rain started to sprinkle.
If you are a Tapingites you know how unpredictable the weather is. One minute you see the sun smiling from ear to ear at you, the next minutes, you are soaking wet. Fifteen minutes later the sun wink at your wet self and say, "It was fun, eh?"
It is not that the Malaysians do not appreciate the lovely weather, but when you know that the sun will come out tomorrow morning and it would be hot if not humid, we have taken it for granted.
And now let me go out and enjoy the war, sunny and breezy morning while the sun is kind enough to warm us.
